About Bluebird Insurance
We do one thing and try to do it properly: prepare your short-term motor cover details in the format UK insurers ask for, and pass them on so an insurer can decide.
Why we exist
Annual motor insurance assumes you drive the same car every day for a year. A great many journeys do not look like that — borrowing a car, learning to drive, moving house in a van, or covering a fortnight abroad.
Temporary cover fits those journeys far better, but historically it meant phone calls, faxed documents and figures that appeared from nowhere. We built the version we wanted to use: three minutes of questions, a clear indicative estimate, and your details prepared and sent to insurers before you have put your phone down.
How we make money
We charge a fee for our template and consulting service. That fee is not a premium and does not buy insurance. Premiums, taxes and any policy charges are paid to the insurer under the insurer's own terms.
Regulation
We are not an insurance company, broker, agent or intermediary, and we are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority to carry on insurance distribution. We do not underwrite risk, issue policies or handle claims.
The insurers we forward details to are separately authorised and regulated in their own right, and any policy is issued by them, in their name, under their own terms. Full details are in our terms of business.
